Singer-songwriter Chris Lincoln loves creating and sharing his music and has pursued his music education and performance portfolio from a young age. After attending Portland Bible College for his Bachelor’s degree in church music with an emphasis on piano and voice, he then earned his Masters of Music and his teaching degree from Crane School of Music. Chris has been able to use his training and talents in his vocation of high school choral teacher.
The year after high school, Chris started his writing and recording journey with his first project “Set This Heart On Fire”, released in 1995. He and band mate Jeremy Conn moonlighted as recording engineers as they recorded the 10 songs they had written and co-written (Jeremy wrote most of them!). Two years later, Chris found himself standing next to Jeremy once again as they played bass and electric guitar (respectively) on City Bible Church’s (Portland, OR) inaugural live worship album “A New Thing” in 1997. A short time following, Chris was honored to be selected as the worship leader for Portland Bible College’s first live worship recording “Consume Me”, playing acoustic guitar and contributing lead vocals. In 2003, Chris recorded “Everybody Knows Your Name”, an EP solo project with producer Ken Vandevrie (Hamilton, ON). After working for his church performing music and technical duties for 5 years, Chris was selected in 2006 as the successor to Chip Lamson to be the high school choral director at Massena High School in his hometown, Massena, NY.
Although he took a break from actively recording, Chris kept writing. This newest project represents his return to recording/producing and is a collection of songs written in some of life’s happiest moments and darkest times. Recorded with some amazing band mates (check out the band bio HERE), “One Life” conveys many aspects of life experiences, and has been a journey itself to write, record & produce while being a husband, a Dad to four children, a teacher, a musical theater director, and worship leader.
Chris balances his passion for his family, local church, songwriting, performing, recording, teaching, and audio engineering with focus, determination, and enviable energy. (And he doesn’t even drink coffee!!) He lives in Massena, NY with his wife Lisa and their four children: Kellon, Allie, Tayte, and Hudson.
Chris hopes that you will journey with him on this new album and find yourself Alive Again, even if you are currently in a painful season of life – Spring will come!
